Tell Stories with Data: Discover New Insights in Kosovo

The Faculty of Economics, University of Prishtina invites students and academic staff to take part in Datathon 2026, a unique event that brings together data analysis, creativity, and storytelling.

Why participate?

The Datathon is designed to:

• encourage the practical use of real data from the DataSphere platform
• develop analytical and research skills among BA, MA, and PhD students, as well as academic staff
• promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the Faculty of Economics
• connect students with academia, public institutions, and the private sector

What makes this Datathon special?

Storytelling with Data: Participants will not only analyze data, but also present a compelling story through their findings, making insights clear, meaningful, and actionable.

Big Data and New Insights: Using DataSphere datasets, participants will explore patterns and trends, supported by curated data teasers designed to spark curiosity and deeper investigation.

Event Structure

Introduction to Data Sources
• Overview of the DataSphere platform and available datasets
• datasphere.uni-pr.edu

Team Work
• Teams of three to five members will work on selected problems using DataSphere datasets

Solution Presentations
• Data analysis
• Models, algorithms, or visualizations
• Storytelling approach to ensure clarity, relevance, and impact
